This Friday night Geelong will make the big trip to the SCG to battle it out against last year’s reigning premiers.

With both teams going in to the fourth round undefeated the intensity, between the Cats and Swans, is sure to rise.

Cats TV spoke to, Andrew Mackie, and journalist, Scott Gullan, on Argue the Toss, where they discussed the significance of playing against a premiership side for the first time since last year?

Mackie looks forward to the contest and sees it as a great opportunity to play hard football. He believes it will provide the Cats with a good indication to where they’re at in comparison to Sydney, in terms of their on-field performance.

“It’s going to be a great contest both sides undefeated, it’s a good chance for us to see where we’re at, and probably a really good chance to see where Sydney are at,” Mackie told Cats TV.

“We’re looking forward to it, there’s no doubt being the ex-premier, probably for the first few rounds, teams will come out and really want to knock you off.”

“We’ll be obviously out there to get the win and we’ll see what we can do.”

According to Gullan, Sydney has experienced a much softer entrance into this year’s draw compared to Geelong, placing thee Cats in a good position for Friday night’s game.

Nevertheless, Sydney displayed a formidable performance against the Roos last week, and Gullan is looking forward to the contested brand of footy that the Cats and Swans are sure to deliver.

“They had the softest draw in the history of premiers, GWS, Gold Coast both in Sydney, and went to Tasmania and stitched up North and played really well,” Gullan said.

“I think some clubs match up really well, Sydney and Geelong always play a contested brand of footy so it is always the same intense contest, no matter the latter positions."
