Geelong’s snappy young forward, Jordan Murdoch, spoke to Cats TV after his two-goal performance against the Tigers at the MCG.

Despite the slippery conditions that hindered the quality of play, Murdoch was still able to carry out his allocated duties with plenty of haste in the forward line.

As well as making himself a point of contact to kick goals, Murdoch was also working terribly hard to keep his defending-opponent away from the spoil.

“I’ve got a pretty clear understanding of what I’ve got to do when I’m out there,” Murdoch told Cats TV.

“I was probably a bit chucked around the place today but as an AFL footballer you’ve got to be pretty versatile and ready for any situation thrown at you.”

Another Cat who kicked two goals whilst keeping a firm paw on the Tigers’ key defender, Brett Deledio, was Taylor Hunt.

“He was Deledio’s shadow and he did a really good shutdown role on him, like we say to taggers like him and (Cameron Guthrie) Guthers, try and get on the forward side of your opponent and kick goals, and he was able to do that really efficiently today.”
