Not one player received 10 votes from senior coaches, Chris Scott and Brenton Sanderson, for Sunday’s clash at AAMI Stadium.

The highest vote that was received for the AFL coaches association award was seven, which was given to four players, however only one Geelong player was included in the mix.

That one player was of course Geelong’s skipper, Joel Selwood, who unfortunately wasn’t able to lead his team the whole way home, after the Cats let the game slip from their hands, which resulted in a two-point loss.

Despite the Cats disappointing trip to Adelaide, Selwood was able to punch out his best to keep the Cats afloat, kicking his career best of three goals, along with 22 touches and eight tackles.

Selwood’s seven votes bumped him up to a total of 61 for the Cats, followed by Steve Johnson on 46. Gold Coast’s skipper, Gary Ablett, still remains at the top of the AFLca vote count with a high entry of 85 votes.
