Hailing from Hobart, Burbury played one NAB Cup game in 2011, four in 2012 but a stress reaction in his foot kept him out of the whole preseason campaign this year.
Burbury returned for his first game of 2013 against Werribee two weeks ago and booted six goals in a best on ground performance.
Two of the Cats other rookies, Mark Blicavs and Josh Walker, are also currently upgraded to the senior list.
