A superb start to the season for Mathew Stokes has seen him get top votes from Chris Scott and Mick Malthouse in the 2013 AFL Coaches Association votes.

Stokes is averaging 25 possessions a game so far in 2013 despite being the substitute in one of his three games. His previous best average in a season was 20 in 2011.

His 30 touches on the weekend was the second highest in his career behind a 31 possession game in 2008 against Essendon.
