Cats skipper Joel Selwood has moved into second place in the AFL Coaches Association Player of the Year award.

Selwood polled the maximum 10 votes for his four goal performance against West Coast.

The other Cats to poll were Jimmy Bartel (8), Mathew Stokes (5), Allen Christensen (3), Steven Johnson (2) and Steven Motlop (1).

Selwood now sits on 88 votes, two behind leader Kieran Jack on 90. Former Cat Gary Ablett Jnr is third on 85.
