GEELONG has received a major boost just over a month out from the start of the 2021 AFL premiership season with star Patrick Dangerfield set to be available for Round 1.
Dangerfield has been troubled by a groin injury since late last year and Geelong’s GM of Football Simon Lloyd told the Herald Sun he is on track for the opening round.
“We are very pleased with Patrick’s progress,” Lloyd said.
“He has progressed through his footy loads without any issue and looks strong and fit. We are very happy with where he is at.”
In other positive news for the Cats, Luke Dahlhaus is “progressing well” from his own groin injury.
“He is picking up speed and working on change of direction and working through different footy sessions and that will increase in coming weeks.”
Finally, ruckman Darcy Fort is taking positive strides in his recovery from a PCL injury.
“Darcy is completing modified craft sessions at the moment and we will monitor how his knee responds in the coming two or three weeks. We are happy with his progress.”
