Hawkins collects top votes
Tom Hawkins receives top votes in the Champion of the Year Award vote count
Last Friday night Geelong’s key forward, Tom Hawkins, received eight votes in the AFL Coaches Association Champion of the Year vote count for his courageous performance inside-50.
Hawkins was one of the main contributors in the Cats five point victory over the Blues, taking 17 touches, 10 marks and four goals.
Mathew Stokes also produced a solid game, receiving six votes from senior coaches for his 22 disposals, five clearances and three-goal effort.
Both Hawkins and Stokes ended their night with a disposal efficiency of over 80%. Cam Guthrie was given two votes for his game of 23 touches, five tackles and five clearances.
