CATS skipper Joel Selwood is relishing his first pre-season alongside younger brother Scott.

Scott Selwood joined the club during the free agency period in October, and Joel is delighted they are living and playing footy in the same place for the first time since they were teenagers.

“It is great [to have him around],” Joel told geelongcats.com.au during an interview that forms part of CatsTV's pre-season series.

“We were only born 22 months apart, so we know each other like the backs of our hands.

"When I went off to Geelong he was only 16.

“Just to see his growth, I’ve been quite impressed.

“He’s really impressed me with his footy smarts and skills - speaking up in meetings.

“But we think that all the guys we have recruited will come in and play a big role in where we’re going.”
