Five things we loved about the weekend's AFL and VFL action …
1. THE SIMONDS STADIUM CROWD
The Geelong supporters who came to the footy on Saturday night were very much in the spotlight, but just about all of them emerged from the occasion with flying colours. Not only did the majority of the spectators decked out in navy blue and white show respect towards Sydney Swans champion Adam Goodes, they also cheered seriously loudly for the Cats. It was, as many people were moved to comment, the best atmosphere at a Geelong home game for quite some time. And to cap it all off, the Selwood chant as the skipper was being chaired from the field was simply spine-tingling.

2. JOEL SELWOOD'S PERFORMANCE
The Cats' captain was everywhere in his 200th game. He finished the game with 35 disposals at 77 per cent efficiency, along with eight clearances, four tackles and six inside-50s. And Selwood certainly appreciated all the support that came his way.
3. TOM HAWKINS' POST-MATCH INTERVIEW WITH CatsTV
The big 'Tomahawk' has become our star performer when it comes to post-match interviews, and he delivered again on Saturday night (watch the interview here). He praised the Simonds Stadium crowd, then gave Joel Selwood an almighty pat on the back. "I've played with a lot of great players, played with a lot of courageous players, and he's one of the best ones I've played with," Hawkins said. "In some ways he's the best footballer I've seen."
4. JAKE KOLODJASHNIJ'S CONTINUING IMPROVEMENT
The emerging defender has been a tremendous contributor to the Cats' late-season revival. He started on Adam Goodes on Saturday night and had the better of the Swans veteran while also setting up attacking moves for his team. He finished the match with 15 disposals, four marks and six one percenters.

5. JORDAN CUNICO'S FORM IN THE VFL
The Cats' VFL side put in a disappointing showing against North Ballarat in Ballarat on Sunday afternoon, going down to Roosters by 47 points. But young midfielder Jordan Cunico was among the players who came home with their heads held high. Cunico was named among Geelong's best performers after tallying 23 disposals, eight marks and two tackles.
