Geelong has established a new club membership record, hitting the 66,000 mark for the first time. This surpasses the 2018 record membership figure of 65,420.

This year marks the seventh consecutive season that the club has set a new membership record.

“The record is really about our members, who support the club throughout the country and give us one of the most passionate supporter bases in the AFL and Australian sport,” Geelong Chief Executive Brian Cook said.

“As a club we are committed to achieving success both on and off the field. Over the past 15 years our team has delivered, and this year our new AFLW squad kept that tradition going by reaching the preliminary final.

“Our on-field performance coupled with our strong commitment to improve people’s lives through our community involvement help supporters come on board as members.

“When you consider that in 2008, coming off a premiership year, our membership stood at a then record 36,850 there continues to be enormous growth with nearly 30,000 extra members now on board.

“The club’s successful seat resale program also assists our members, as they can work through the club to resell seats that they are unable to use for games. This program continues to grow and we encourage all members to utilise this for games they cannot attend.”
