The Cats have named three changes for their VFLW side to take on Hawthorn on Saturday.

They welcome back AFLW-listed trio Liv Fuller, Madisen Maguire and Laura Gardiner into the side as they look to build on the foundations of a strong opening round.

Maguire and Gardiner have been listed as emergencies for the AFLW team in Friday night's clash.

Following her three-goal haul against Carlton in the season-opener, Liv Barber has earned a call-up to the AFLW team, while Annie Haigh and Taylah Nelson are both omitted and have been named among the emergencies.

The Cats will be looking to get a gauge of where they're at when they take on the Hawks at Deakin University Elite Sports Precinct.

The two teams had eerily similar scorelines in Round 1, with the Cats defeating Carlton 73-14, while the Hawks defeated North Melbourne 72-13.

That Cats had a good spread of goalkickers in the opening round as they found multiple avenues to goal, moving the ball well from defence and through the midfield up forward.

Paige Sheppard and Tamara Smith saw plenty of the ball through the midfield, and brought the pressure as well, with 46 disposals and 17 tackles between them.

The Cats will be hoping to see more of the same connection and great ball use that saw them dominate in the opening clash when the host the Hawks.

First bounce is at 12pm on Saturday at Deakin University Elite Sports Precinct.
