The Cats have made four changes to team to take on the Southern Saints at Deakin University Elite Sports Precinct this Saturday.

Breanna Pratt and Taylah Nelson come back into the line-up, and will be joined by Ava McKeegan and Jaime Woollett, who are both playing their first games for the season.

The quartet replaces Claudia Gunjaca, Liv Fuller, Sophie Dineen (unvailable) and Brooke Wells (omitted).

After her stellar performance up forward last week when she kicked four goals, first-year Cat Melissa Bragg has been named to start in the forward line, alongside Sachi DeGiacomi.

The starting five backs and midfield are unchanged, after last week's brilliant defensive efforts kept Port Melbourne to a solitary behind, while Rene Caris has been named starting ruck.

The Cats are three-from-three to start their 2022 campaign, and have proven to be strong both offensively and defensively, piling on 158 points over the past three weeks while only conceding 30 in total.

The Saints have had mixed results over the same time frame, comfortably accounting for Collingwood and Western Bulldogs, but going down to Carlton in Round 2.

Like the Cats, the Saints have had a good spread of goalkickers, so will be tough to shut down on the scoreboard with multiple avenues to goal.

The midfield contest will be crucial in the contest. Paige Sheppard (22.3 disposals, 10 tackles, 6.7 clearances) and Tamara Smith (21.3, 12, 5) have been in great form so far this season, while vice-captain Chloe Leonard really hit her straps against Port Melbourne (25 disposals, 6 tackles, 7 clearances).

The Cats take on the Saints from 10am on Saturday at Deakin University Elite Sports Precinct.
