A defender and two on-ballers make up Geelong’s nominations for the 2022 AFL Players MVP Award.
Amy McDonald and Becky Webster’s strong midfield performances have seen them named among the Cats’ three nominees, while Maddy McMahon’s brilliant season in defence has also been recognised.
Georgie Prespakis’ 10-game debut season has seen her earn the Cats’ Best First-Year Player nomination, while McMahon has also been nominated for the Most Courageous Player Award.
Meghan McDonald is the Cats’ nominee for the Best Captain award.
Voting for the AFLPA awards is a two-step process: first, players nominate a teammate for the awards, with the results forming the shortlist revealed today.
Then, voting is opened up to players across the whole competition to vote for the overall winners of each award, with players unable to vote for a player from their own club.
Award winners will be announced at the AFL Players’ Association MVP Awards on Wednesday.
To see the full list of nominees across the league, head to the AFL Players' Association website.
