Upbeat report from nib Medical Room
This week Geelong's physio, Mike Snelling, was able to give a positive report from the nib Medical Room
In good news for Cats fans, the club’s injury list is dwindling as September draws closer.
Josh Cowan seems to be on the road to full fitness after an extensive stint on the sidelines overcoming an Achilles injury.
Cats Physio Mike Snelling said the medical team were very conservative with Cowan last week which saw him miss the VFL’s clash with Casey.
“He’s had three games back in the VFL and then missed last week.
“He had some sort of awareness towards the end of the week so we trained him heavily over the weekend and he pulled up really well from that.
“This week he’s got through training excellently so we’d expect him to play this weekend.”
George Burbury who has endured an extended rehab with a hip injury can now see the light at the end of the tunnel.
“George has had a long rehab as we all know and it was quite an extensive injury.
“He’s done really well, he’s in full training and he’d be tested at the end of the week but we expect him to get up for this weekend.”
Jackson Sheringham is on track to be the third Cat to return to the VFL this week after a hamstring injury.
“He’s training all this week, he’s done really well and is looking sharp on the track and we’d also expect him to come up for this weekend.”
Paul Chapman, a regular in the nib Medical Room over recent months, made his long-awaited return to football on the weekend.
“It was fantastic to see; obviously he had a little bit of a concern about coming back after such a long layoff.
“But he got through really well, enjoyed the game and we’d expect him to be out there again this weekend.”
