Geelong has secured the services of experienced Melbourne forwards Jacqueline Parry and Shelley Scott on the third day of the AFLW Sign and Trade Period.
Parry is a mobile tall forward with 22 AFLW games to her credit, with the 25-year-old’s athleticism set to add a new dimension to the Cats’ attack.
Scott is one of the most seasoned campaigners in the AFLW, just one game shy of 50 league appearances after six seasons with the Demons.
The versatile mid/forward co-captained Melbourne in 2019 and won the Demons’ best and fairest in 2020.
The duo join former Demons teammate Chantel Emonson in the Hoops.
The trade will see Cats veteran Jordan Ivey head to Melbourne, along with pick 51.
Ivey has played 33 AFLW games, including 31 at Geelong, where she was vice-captain in 2021. Ivey’s versatility and team-first attitude saw the 29-year-old fill a number of roles across defence, midfield and the forward line over her time at the club.
“Jordan has been a wonderful player since the inception of our women’s program in 2017, and has made a significant contribution on & off the field. We wish her well in this next phase of her journey,” Geelong Cats head of AFLW and Pathways Brett Johnson said.
“We’re excited to boost our attack with the addition of Shelley and Jacqueline. They bring a wealth of experience and leadership, and will assist us as we look to take our attacking game to a new level in season seven.”
The AFLW Sign and Trade Period continues until 3pm Wednesday, 8 June.
The Cats currently hold picks 17 and 67 in the NAB AFLW Draft, which will be held on 29 June.
