Veteran defender Tom Lonergan has confirmed he will return from injury this week and is ready for the task against in-form Essendon forward Joe Daniher.
A late withdrawal in round three, the 31-year-old says he’s sure to cross paths with the Bombers’ main avenue to goal as part of the inaugural Powercor Country Program on Saturday afternoon at the MCG.
“Yeah I’ll get him at some stage no doubt,” Lonergan told media on Thursday.
“He’s a tall fella, obviously over 200 centimetres and he’s put on a bit more bulk this season by the looks of things.”
“He’s very mobile. I know all of our players really rate him and our coaches do too so he’ll be a focal point for them.
