GEELONG has made just one change to its winning Round 1 side, with Laura Gardiner set to come in for the injured Rachel Kearns.
Gardiner, who had a record-breaking VFLW season, will add another string to the Cats midfield as they prepare to take on Fremantle at Fremantle Community Bank Oval on Saturday.
The 19-year-old finished runner-up in Geelong’s VFLW best and fairest off the back of just seven appearances, averaging nearly 35 disposals a game, including a record-high 49 disposals against Port Melbourne.
Kearns is likely to miss the remainder of the season after suffering a shoulder injury in the opening round. The dynamic Cat underwent surgical repair of her AC joint earlier this week.
The Cats have otherwise remained stable with the team that got the job done against Richmond in the season-opener.
Geelong will celebrate another milestone this weekend, with defender Georgie Rankin set to play her 25th AFLW match.
The Cats take on Fremantle from 1.40pm AEST (11.40am local time) on Saturday. Tune in to the broadcast on Foxtel, or stream through Kayo, womens.afl or the official AFLW or AFL Live Apps.
