Patrick Dangerfield’s match shaping Preliminary Final performance on Friday night against the Brisbane Lions has been rewarded with a perfect 10 coaches votes.

Dangerfield was back at his bullocking best on Friday night, setting the tone early, hitting the scoreboard within the first minute, before nothing up his second later in the quarter. He would finish the game with 28 disposals, 720 metres gained, eight clearances, and seven inside 50s, all match highs.

Gryan Miers (22 disposals, 2 goals) was among the votes after playing arguably his best game for the club, and the same can be said for Jake Kolodjashnij, who had 23 disposals and 13 intercepts, both career highs.

Tom Hawkins (5) and Tom Stewart (3) also received votes.

The AFL Coaches Association Gary Ayres Award is presented in recognition of the player who has been adjudged as the best player throughout the AFL Finals Series, as voted by the coaches on a weekly basis. Votes are issued after every game of the Finals Series by the competing coaches, with each coach providing their 5-4-3-2-1 for the match.
