JIMMY Bartel remains in contention to play in Sunday's big game against Fremantle at Simonds Stadium.
Bartel had to be helped from the field after being slammed into the turf by Taylor Duryea during the final seconds of the loss to Hawthorn on Easter Monday.
But the 31-year-old has made a promising recovery from the knock.
"The good news is that Jimmy's feeling better," club physio Mark Young said on CatsTV's nib Medical Room on Wednesday.
"He'll have tests to do this week, like we have on all players, and ultimately the doctor and Jim will have a conversation each day during the week, his wellbeing obviously being our main concern."
This week's episode of nib Medical Room also includes updates on:
* Andrew Mackie (missed the clash with the Hawks due to quad tightness)
* Dawson Simpson (suffered a shoulder problem against the Hawks)
* Jarrad Jansen (hamstring strain)
* Zac Bates (recovering from hamstring problems)
