HE HAD to wait until pick 74 in the NAB AFL Draft, but Geelong father-son prospect Oscar Brownless will follow famous dad Billy in becoming a Cat.
After securing WA defender Jordan Clark in the opening round, the Cats selected four more players on Friday before taking Brownless to bolster the club's midfield stocks.

Seen by some as a third-round selection, Brownless slipped through to the Cats' final pick, allowing them to save draft points for other additions.
Having spent time training with the Cats throughout the season, Brownless has highlighted Cats running machine Mitch Duncan as a player he will look to model his game on.
Clocking 6:13 minutes for the 2km time trial at the NAB AFL Draft, the endurance star averaged 20.6 disposals and a standout 7.1 tackles per game for Geelong Falcons in the TAC Cup in 2018.
"He's a very different player to his famous father Bill, Oscar will make his own way as a footballer," Cats recruiting boss Stephen Wells said.
"He's a terrific character, runs really well, he's going to be a terrific addition to our club."
Earlier, the Cats added four players from South Australia, including Norwood pair Ben Jarvis (pick 48) and Jacob Kennerley (pick 50), both members of SA's NAB Under 18 AFL National Championship winning team.
Jarvis is a 189cm medium forward, while Kennerley, a smooth-moving wingman, broke the NAB AFL Draft Combine record for the 2km time trial with a time of 6:04 minutes.
Central District's mature-age ruckman Darcy Fort (pick 65), a former Geelong local, was joined by South Adelaide 175cm midfielder Jake Tarca (pick 68), a state teammate of Jarvis and Kennerley.
It continued Wells' long-standing association with South Australian draftees that includes triple premiership stars Corey Enright and Andrew Mackie, who is now part of the club's recruiting team.
"We do love the South Australian football state, it's a great football state," Wells said.
"The boys we picked have all performed well at club level and with their state and they'll fit in very well."
The 204cm Fort, who hails from local club South Barwon and is a former teammate of All Australian Tom Stewart, also spent time in the VFL at Werribee and Footscray.
The Cats attempted to throw a late curveball at North Melbourne, bidding on Bailey Scott with pick 49 after he had previously nominated his preference to join the Roos over the Cats and Gold Coast.
The son of former Roo and Cat Robert, Bailey was also eligible to join the Suns as a member of the club's Academy.
The Roos quickly matched the Geelong's bid, the Cats taking Kennerley with the next selection.
It comes after the Cats used pick 15 on Clark, a star junior cricketer who made the full-time switch to football mid-season.
The Cats will consider the half-back a ready-made prospect when he recovers from a bout of glandular fever, having played at senior WAFL level for Claremont.
