Geelong will welcome back captain Angus Byrne and co-vice-captain Daniel Capiron for Sunday's VFL clash with Port Melbourne.

The pair last played in the Round 7 clash against South Port, but return to take the field at GMHBA Stadium as the Cats strive to bounce back following a loss and a draw in their two matches prior to last week's bye.

AFL-listed players Mitch Knevitt and Ollie Dempsey have both been named as inclusions, but are only on the AFL emergencies list for Saturday's Sir Doug Nicholls Round game.

Defender Bailey van de Heuvel is also set to return, while Tyler Norton will make is debut, and is the Cats' 23rd player.

Oisin Mullin will make his AFL debut this weekend, and is among six outs, alongside Ryan Eyers, Tanner Lewis, Matty Lloyd, Oscar Morrison and Osca Riccardi.

Lewis is expected to be out for the long term following a stress fracture in his foot.

First bounce is at 12pm at GMHBA Stadium on Sunday. For those unable to attend, the match will be broadcast on Channel 7.
