Tom Stewart led the AFL Coaches' Association Champion Player of the Year voting for Saturday's clash with Essendon as Geelong players enjoyed a clean sweep.

Stewart was a general in defence, proving impassable for Essendon and playing a key role as the Cats restricted the Bombers to just seven goals for the match.

The Cats vice-captain had an equal-game-high nine intercept possessions among his 18 disposals, eight marks and four score involvements for the match.

Young gun Max Holmes continued his strong form, drawing seven votes for his game-high 33 disposals, eight marks, three tackles, five intercepts and nine score involvements.

Tom Hawkins' five goals, 16 disposals, eight marks and 12 score involvements saw him receive six votes from the coaches, while Atkins (28 disposals, 12 tackles, nine clearances) was prolific around the contest, earning five votes.

Rounding out the votes, defender Jack Henry (13 disposals, eight intercepts, six marks, four tackles) received two, while forwards Gryan Miers (26 disposals, two goal assists and one goal) and Brad Close (14 disposals, two goals, seven score involvements) both received one vote.
