The AFL has today released the Cats match simulation and practice match details in the lead up to the upcoming 2023 AFLW season.

Geelong will take on Collingwood at Victoria Park on Saturday, 12 August before traveling to Adelaide to take on the Crows the following weekend on Saturday, 19 August at Adelaide Oval.

The Geelong vs Adelaide game will be a curtain-raiser to the AFL game between the Crows and Sydney.

08:52

All practice matches will be streamed via club platforms, and practice matches will be free to attend except the Adelaide Geelong Cats which will require an AFL ticket.

The practice matches will give fans their first glimpse of the recently introduced rule adjustments, which include longer quarters, interchange caps, adjustments to boundary throw ins, and a cap on the use of runners.

The format, number of players, game length, and number of breaks for the match simulation can be agreed upon by the competing teams.

The match-ups for the match simulation training reflect those across the same weekend in Round 22 of the Toyota AFL Premiership Season.

Arrangements and public access for match simulation training will be managed and communicated by each club.
