The Geelong Football Club have confirmed three list changes to its playing squad on Monday.
Sam Simpson, Cooper Whyte and Osca Riccardi have been informed they will not be offered contracts for the 2024 season.
Simpson departs Geelong having made his debut in 2017 for a total of 25 AFL games in the hoops, including six in 2023. Simpson played in the 2020 AFL Grand Final and was an important part of the Cats Finals series that season.
Taken at pick 64 in the 2021 National Draft, Whyte earned his AFL debut in Round 2 this season against Carlton.
Riccardi joined the Cats as a father-son selection in the 2022 Rookie Draft and played 13 VFL games this season.
Geelong Head of List Management, Andrew Mackie thanked the players for their contributions to the Club.
“All three players have been great teammates who are well respected and have lived the Geelong values during their time at the Club.
“We thank Sam, Cooper, and Osca for their efforts over their time at Geelong and wish them every success in the future. The Club will continue to support them on and off the field.”
This list update follows Sam Menegola playing his last game for the Cats in Round 24 and the retirements of Isaac Smith and Jonathon Ceglar.
