Hawthorn captain Luke Hodge says it’s unlikely the reigning premier will lock down on Geelong ball-winners Patrick Dangerfield and Joel Selwood for Friday night’s qualifying final – instead opting to hunt each and every player wearing hoops.

Joining the panel on Channel Seven’s Talking Footy on Monday night, the two-time Norm Smith medallist said the Cats have no shortage of match winners who can perform under pressure, meaning team defence is the best port of call.

“You go after the whole team,” Hodge said.

“If you hunt two people, the others will do the job.”

“Geelong is an exceptional team … Jimmy Bartel is known for stepping up; Hawkins is unbelievable and Motlop has got a knock of playing well against us well.”

“Our mindset is to hunt all Geelong players.”

The Cats will clash with Hodge and Hawthorn in a blockbuster qualifying final on Friday night at the MCG from 7:50pm.
