Amy McDonald has received the maximum number of votes from the coaches after her standout performance against Walyalup on the weekend.

McDonald finished with a season-high 30 touches, including 8 clearances and four tackles in just 79% of game time. Her final tally of 30 is five above her season average of 25.

Her midfield mate, Georgie Prespakis picked up four votes for her 25 disposal, eight tackle, and six clearance performance, while Chloe Scheer was also awarded four votes for her two goal turn up forward.

Nina Morrison (3), Claudia Gunjaca (3), Rebecca Webster (2), and Chantel Emonson (1), playing her 50th AFLW game, also caught the coaches’ eye.  

The weekend’s votes have seen Morrison (29 votes), Prespakis (29 votes) and McDonald (27 votes), move into the 18th, 19th, and 20th place respectively on the AFLCA leaderboard.

The AFL Coaches Association’s AFLW Champion Player of the Year is an award voted by the AFLW senior coaches on a 5,4,3,2,1 basis after each home and away game, acknowledging outstanding effort by an individual player in a season.
