FIVE THINGS TO LOOK OUT FOR:

1. AN INTRIGUING RUCK BATTLE
North Melbourne's Todd Goldstein is undoubtedly among the best few ruckmen in the competition, and he was best on ground when the Kangaroos knocked Geelong out of the finals in straight sets last season. The Cats will hand recruit Rhys Stanley the big job of combating Goldstein on Sunday, with Stanley to be supported by Josh Walker and Mitch Clark. Chris Scott said in his Thursday press conference that he is confident Stanley can give Goldstein a run for his money, but it shapes as a massive challenge for the former Saint.

2. DIRECT PLAY
The Cats recorded the second-most metres gained in round three, their tally of 6420 being second only to Collingwood, which notched 6450 metres gained in its win over St Kilda. The interesting part of the Cats performance was that their opponent, Gold Coast, recorded the third-most metres gained (6360) for the weekend. So Geelong seems to be in a position where it is keen to move the ball forward as much as possible, but it is letting its opposition do plenty of attacking as well. By comparison, Fremantle had almost 800 more metres gained than its opponent last weekend, West Coast.

3. COREY ENRIGHT'S COOL HEAD
After a somewhat shaky start to the season, Enright bounced back with an impressive performance in the win over the Suns. This weekend he celebrates another milestone when he plays his 292nd AFL game, which draws him level with Darren Milburn in third spot on Geelong list of most games played. Enright has to play a few more to catch up to the Cats' record holder, Ian Nankervis, who played 325 games between 1967 and 1983. The only other player in front of Milburn and Enright after the weekend will be John 'Sammy' Newman, who played 300 games between 1964 and 1980.

4. THE CATS IN TOUCH AT QUARTER-TIME
In the 1011 matches played by Geelong at Simonds Stadium since 1897, the Cats have trailed by more than six goals at quarter-time on only nine occasions. The last time this happened was round 21, 1983, when Essendon led 8.4 (52) to 1.2 (8) at the first change.
