The AFLPA has released their first squad for the 2023 22Under22 team, with four Geelong players featuring in the initial 44 player squad.

Georgie Prespakis, Mikayla Bowen, Nina Morrison and Darcy Moloney have all been selected in the squad which celebrates the best AFLW players under 22 years of age.

Georgie Prespakis had another stellar year in the midfield averaging 25 disposals, seven clearances and seven tackles per game as she quickly develops into one the competition’s best players.

Mikayla Bowen continues to be a strong contributor in the Cats line up, averaging 13 disposals and four tackles per game while spending time on the wing.

Nina Morrison has taken her game to another level in 2023, spending more time in the midfield to average a career high 23 disposals per game, while also pushing forward to hit the scoreboard in six games.

Darcy Moloney is another who has spent more time in the midfield this season, also averaging a career high 15 disposals and five tackles per game.

These four young stars have been crucial in Geelong’s 2023 campaign, which will see them take on Essendon in an Elimination Final this Sunday at GMHBA Stadium.

The final 22 player team is selected through fan voting, so Geelong supporters are encouraged to get online and support these young Cats stars.
