Geelong midfielder Scott Selwood is in line to play the Hawks in an MCG blockbuster this Saturday afternoon.
The 27-year-old injured his hamstring in the Cats’ round 14 win over Fremantle at Simonds Staidum and subsequently missed the following two games against Greater Western Sydney and Brisbane.
“I feel pretty good. I just missed out last week on playing and I feel really confident in it,” Selwood told Cats Media this week.
“I’ll tick off some training and make sure I’m ready to go. I’d love to verse the Hawks.”
Cats head physio Mark Young echoed Selwood’s optimism, with it likely the former West Coast vice-captain will make his return against Hawthorn.
“Scooter trained well back at the club last week,” Young told this week’s GMBHA Health Report.
“He’s in full training this week and he will come into consideration for the weekend.”
