On Anzac Day we honour the people who have served our country in war, conflicts and peacekeeping operations.
Geelong will wear their 2024 Anzac Round Guernsey against Carlton on Saturday.
The new guernsey is a companion to the Cats’ 2023 design, which featured the names of past players who had made the Ultimate Sacrifice for their country.
The 2024 guernsey continues the story, extending the recognition to every past Cats player who has served their country in times of conflict, from the Boer War through to the Vietnam War.
The names of those footballers who served appear in a band across the back of the guernsey, while the front of the guernsey bears the silhouette of a soldier and footballer, reflecting the dual roles of those who served our country, as well as the ANZAC Appeal Shield.
Profits from sales of the guernseys will to the Returned and Services League (RSL) ANZAC Appeal.
Lest We Forget.
