Cameron Guthrie and Oli Wiltshire are edging closer to a return, as the pair continue to make progress in their return from injury.

Guthrie (achillies) is progressing well in his recovery, while Wiltshire (Pelvis) is expected to make his return within the next month.

Tom Hawkins is expected to miss between six and eight weeks with an atypical mid foot joint and ligament injury to his left foot, which he sustained during Friday night’s clash with Carlton.

Tanner Bruhn is still three to five weeks away with a scaphoid fracture.

Geelong and Essendon will clash this week in the traditional Country Game, recognising the significant contribution of regional football clubs to the game of Australian Football.

The traditional Country Game between Geelong and Essendon is an annual celebration of the connections both clubs share to regional and rural communities, particularly through the players from those regions who have represented the clubs.

Geelong’s 2024 Regional Guernsey includes the colours of every Cats AFL player’s junior or local club – whether Australian Rules or Gaelic Football – in a stripe around the middle Hoop, with each player’s guernsey also individualised to feature their junior club logo.

The Cats and the Bombers will do battle on Saturday night at the MCG, with the opening bounce at 7.30pm. Tickets are still available at www.ticketek.com.au

The game will be broadcast live on Channel Seven, streamed via Kayo or you can listen to all the action on K rock Football.
