Ollie Dempsey continues to go from strength to strength, with the rising star putting together another standout performance on Friday night.

Dempsey did not leave the field for a break at any point throughout the night playing 100 percent game time, with the forward-turned-winger enjoying the wide expanses of the MCG for the third time in four weeks.

Collecting 17 disposals, Dempsey also had 10 marks and booted an important goal near the end of the third quarter.

The 21 year old has grasped the 2024 season with both hands, firmly cementing his position in the Geelong line-up while averaging 18 disposals per game and booting 14 goals.

Dempsey spoke with ABC on Saturday following the win over Collingwood, crediting a few key individuals for their role in his development this year.

“Nigel Lappin has been a big one for me,” Dempsey told ABC.

“In my first couple years he was the forward coach and now he is full time development coach, head of our academy group and he is unreal with it.

“He has been really good for Lawson Humphries as well, but especially for me.

“I worked really close with him my first few years trying to build good habits, even this year he has been so good for me.

“James Rahilly and Steven King coming in this year as well, all those assistant coaches have been so good for my development.”

Dempsey was awarded an AFL Rising Star Nomination in Round 1 this year against St Kilda, now firmly in the running to take out the overall award at the end of the season.

After playing seven games in his first two seasons with Geelong, Dempsey has featured in every game so far in 2024.

The form continues to grow even stronger for the 21 year old, averaging 23 disposals and a goal per game over the past four weeks.

Dempsey and the Cats will look to win their fourth consecutive game this Saturday night, when they take on the Western Bulldogs at GMHBA Stadium.
