The coaches votes are in for Geelong's round three match, with Max Holmes the only Cat to receive votes in Saturday night's clash with Brisbane at the Gabba.
Holmes was awarded three votes from the coaches, taking his season tally to seven votes and moving him into second place for Geelong, just behind Bailey Smith.
In difficult conditions at the Gabba, the emerging star was outstanding collecting 29 disposals and taking nine marks, while also pushing forward to kick a goal in the second quarter.
With ball movement at a premium, Holmes' run and carry was electric finishing with a team high 619 metres gained, a strong response after receiving a heavy tag the week prior against St Kilda.
Holmes also finished with five intercept possessions and four score involvements, a strong outing that included a little bit of everything for the young star.
The AFL Coaches Association’s AFL Champion Player Award is an award voted by the 18 coaching panels on a 5,4,3,2,1 basis after each home and away game, acknowledging outstanding effort by an individual player in a season.
The Geelong Football Club and Ford will celebrate their 100 year partnership this weekend, when the Cats take on Melbourne on Friday night at GMHBA Stadium.
As part of the celebrations, Geelong will have a number of exciting activations including a Ford premiership motorcade, a fan photo opportunity, while the VFL Cats will also be in action as a curtain raiser at GMHBA Stadium.
Tickets are still available for Geelong's Friday night clash with Melbourne, secure your seat via Ticketmaster.
