The Cats will be looking to extend the AFL’s longest active winning streak over an opposition team, when they take on North Melbourne on Saturday.  

Geelong have won their last 12 consecutive games against the Kangaroos, dating all the way back to round 12 of the 2016 season.  

Since their very first clash back in 1925, Geelong hold a 63% all time win rate across 171 games against North Melbourne.  

Here are some other significant numbers from the Cats 12 game winning streak against the Kangaroos:

4 – The Cats have defeated North Melbourne at four different venues across their 12-game winning streak. This includes GMHBA Stadium on six occasions, Marvel Stadium for three of their wins, this week’s host Blundstone Arena for two games, and one game at the Gabba during the covid interuppted 2020 season.  

77 – Geelong’s average winning margin in their last four clashes against North Melbourne. This includes a 75 point win earlier this year, a 62 point win in 2023, a huge 112 point thumping late in 2022 and a 10 goal win the last time the two teams met in Hobart.  

10 – Tom Stewart holds a perfect career record against North Melbourne, having beaten the Kangaroos every time he has played them since debuting in 2017.

45 – Geelong’s average winning margin across their 12 game streak. The margin’s range anywhere from one point (2017) to 112 points (2022), with the Roos only getting within 30 points of the Cats twice since 2016.  

112 – The Cats biggest winning margin over North Melbourne in Round 16 of the 2022 season. Tom Hawkins and Jeremy Cameron combined for 10 goals, Cameron picked up 30 disposals and Geelong held North Melbourne to just seven scoring shots for the night.
