Caitlin Thorne is set to make her AFLW debut this weekend, as Geelong head to the Gold Coast for a Week 4 clash with the Suns.

Thorne signed with the Cats in June ahead of the 2024 season, a versatile player with the ability to play both through the midfield and across half back.

Her journey to the top level commenced in Queensland, spending time with the Gold Coast Suns Academy and the Under 18 Queensland State Team.

Thorne moved to Victoria in 2023 and joined the Box Hill Hawks VFLW side, playing 13 games in her inaugural season.

The 21 year old was a standout for the Hawks in 2024, averaging 16 disposals and seven tackles per game to earn selection in Rebel VFLW Team of the Year.

A breakout season landed Thorne on Geelong's radar, signing late in June and putting in a solid stint at training to earn her AFLW debut this week.

Thorne was one of two changes for the Cats Week 4 clash, with Georgie Rankin also set to return against the Suns.
