Bruns on how he received the Number 19
It was actually at the Geelong Showgrounds, we got told you would either be on the list or not on the list.
They got us up with the hay bales, it was country Geelong back then, and I still remember they handed us the jumper or threw it at you and said you are on the list now.
That was about it, not a whole lot of difference.
I was lucky enough to know 'Jocka' (George Todd), who was a long time servant of the club and I knew the family very well. He himself came around not long after that night and wished me all the best with my future, which meant a lot to me.
Martin on his New Chapter
I am very excited, very humbled to be wearing the number 19.
Obviously Neville played over 200 games in it, so like I said I am extremely I am extremely humbled and honoured to be wearing it.
I think it is not so much proving people wrong, I think I just want to prove to myself that I can play AFL football.
I just want to get out there and showcase my skill, and then play for my family so I am looking forward to next year.
Bruns on the Legacy of the Number 19
You do hope that whoever gets your number plays for a long time, someone that can equal or even go better than you in terms of games and win a few premierships.
That is what you want, we have had some good players wear it but unfortunately they just haven't gone on to really cement their spots.
I am hoping Jack can do that and I am sure that he can, I know how good he can play. You don't play 100 games with one club and 50 with another, without having the ability to play good football.
He just has to get his body right and I have no doubt, he is probably in as good an environment anywhere in the game here at Geelong, where they will get you right and ready to play.
Martin on the Start of his Cats Career
The whole group has been welcoming.
The coaches, the staff, the high performance team, the Player Development Manager, it is just a great club to be in.
It is a great community to be in and I am loving Geelong at the moment.
Bruns on his Current Involvement with Geelong and Football
I am on the past players committee, have been since I came back to Geelong about seven years ago.
I am still passionate about the game, I think the game has improved a lot in the last few years. The game looked like it was in a little bit of disarray four or five years ago, with the way it was being coached. They have changed that, the footy is now exciting again.
I love going to the footy, I am blue in one eye and white in the other and I always will be.
I grew up as a kid near Echuca barracking for Geelong, got my dream to play with them and I just love the club.
I love seeing new blokes come in and wish them all the best, because your time at a club is very short. It doesn't seem it when you are there but you blink and the next thing you know, you are retired and out of it.
