Geelong has selected Timm House and Ryan Abbott with its fifth (No. 68) and sixth (No. 69) selections in the NAB AFL Draft.
Both House and Abbott played in the Cats' VFL team in 2016.
Abbott is a 200cm, 99kg ruckman with a basketball background, who joined the VFL Cats after a standout 2015 in the Geelong Football League with Grovedale.
So impressive was his 2015 season, 23-year-old Abbott was named in the GFL Team of the Year and as the GFL interleague ruckman.
He is prepared to lay tackles and look after his midfielders.
Abbott’s marking ability and capacity to go forward when required are among some of his best qualities.
He played four VFL games and kicked one goal in 2016.
House is a 194cm, 95kg key position player who hails from Western Australia.
He played with Claremont in the WAFL before joining Geelong league club Newtown & Chilwell, where he was a key part of the club's drive to the GFL Grand Final in 2015.
He played 12 VFL games and kicked 19 goals in 2016.
