CATS star Steve Johnson is free to play in Sunday's round two clash with Fremantle at Simonds Stadium after accepting a fine for his bump on Hawthorn's Sam Mitchell.
Johnson was reported for engaging in rough conduct after knocking Mitchell to the ground during the second quarter of the loss to the Hawks on Easter Monday.
Mitchell later told Channel Nine that he did not regard the incident as involving any malice.
"I talked to him afterwards, and he said he thought I had taken possession of the ball, so then he was trying to knock it out of (my) grasp," Mitchell said.
"So no big deal I wouldn't think. It was just a glancing blow.
"I didn't need any medical treatment or anything, so I'm sure he'll be fine."
The Match Review Panel graded the bump as careless and medium impact, which resulted in a $1500 fine under the new match review system.
It is expected that Johnson will plead guilty, in which case his fine will be reduced to $1000.
