GEELONG midfielder Cameron Guthrie looks to have overcome a calf complaint in time for his side’s semi final clash with the Eagles.

Cats coach Chris Scott expressed optimism that the tough midfielder would be fit to put his hand up at the selection table.

“He had a calf issue that was minor and we’re confident he’ll be available,” Scott said.

Smooth-moving All Australian Tim Kelly spent time at home away from the group today as he overcomes a minor illness.  

“He’s got a sniffle,” Scott said.

He’ll certainly be away from the group, that tends to be the main priority, to make sure that any sort of infection doesn’t spread.”

Gary Rohan will have to prove his fitness to face the Eagles, after a knee complaint ended his night prematurely last Friday night.

“Gary Rohan had an issue that meant he couldn’t come back onto the ground so he’d be hopefully a test for this week.  He’s certainly in some doubt,” Scott said.

“There was some concern with the hammy but they’re confident that’s not the issue. It’s more of a posterior knee capsule problem I believe.”

Scott ruled a line through both Mitch Duncan and Jordan Clark, who will miss this week with knee and elbow injuries respectively.

“Mitch Duncan won’t be available. We’re not really in a position to give much more of a longer-term outlook other than to say he won’t play this week,” Scott said.

“Jordan won’t play. We’re not sure where we are at with Jordan after this week, but it is clear this week.”
