Geelong will need to make at least one change to their team that defeated West Coast after Tom Hawkins was handed a one match ban for striking.
We take a look at which Cats are in the selection mix this week.
Gary Rohan
Chris Scott is optimistic that Rohan will be available to line-up against Richmond at the MCG on Friday night. The speedy forward has been sidelined with a knee injury and will need to pass a fitness test later in the week.
“Gary will be available pending training over the next couple of days,” Scott said at Tuesday’s press conference.
Lachie Henderson
Played the final four matches of the home and away season. Demonstrated in those games that he can come in and play an important role down back. His inclusion would allow either of Harry Taylor or Jack Henry to play in attack. He also has the ability to swing forward himself.
James Parsons
With rain expected on Friday night, Geelong may look to boost their midfield depth and allow Patrick Dangerfield to play deeper in attack. In this instance Parsons would come under strong consideration.
Versatile tall Lachie Henderson in action at training.
Scott Selwood
Similar to Parsons, another Cat that could come in to add to Geelong’s midfield mix. The specialist tagger would be an ideal matchup to help restrict the likes of Dion Prestia or Trent Cotchin’s influence in the contested areas.
Darcy Fort
Has been one of Geelong’s best VFL performers in the latter half of the season, booting 13 goals in his final five games. A return for Fort would also relieve Ratugolea of his duties as back-up ruck, allowing him to play fully in attack.
Zac Smith
Could be considered for a recall if the selectors decide to play Rhys Stanley predominantly forward against the Tigers.
Charlie Constable
Could be a smokey to get the call up this weekend. Has a game built for finals with his prowess in the contested areas of the game.
