GEELONG midfielder Patrick Dangerfield will learn the severity of his knee injury this afternoon after undergoing scans today.

The 29-year-old was injured during the Cats’ 32-point win against Essendon in the annual Powercor Country Festival clash last weekend.

The injury restricted Dangerfield’s influence on the contest, finishing the game with eight disposals and four marks.

“Pretty sore, but I suppose you have plenty of games of footy where it’s like that," Dangerfield said speaking to SEN radio on Tuesday morning.

"Troubling one is probably the lateral movement that is restricted when you give your knee a bit of a tweak."

Dangerfield admitted that he will be touch and go to line up against North Melbourne at Marvel Stadium on Sunday.

“I wouldn’t say in doubt. I think it will be a late call."

"Generally, with these sorts of things it’s more recovery early on in the week and then at some stage you have got to start moving again and get the blood flow going," he said.

"If you leave it too late you are leaving yourself too much to do in order to prove your own fitness."
