Geelong's acting chief executive, Justin Reeves, has issued the following statement regarding the round 21 game against Richmond.
“Geelong’s round 21 clash with Richmond will remain at Simonds Stadium despite recent media reports.
“The club and the AFL have not, and do not intend to discuss a venue move.
“The state government, local government and the AFL have invested heavily in Simonds Stadium to create one of the best regional stadiums in the country but due to the recently completed stage 4 redevelopment, only 7 games were scheduled at Simonds Stadium in 2017.
“The club’s desire to secure an increased number of games at the venue in future years remains strong.
“More than 8000 tickets are available for public sale for all Simonds Stadium matches, inclusive of round 21, via Ticketmaster.”
