Cats TV asked Tom Lonergan and journalist Scott Gullan how the Cats should approach this week’s match up against the Saints on Argue the Toss?

Going into Round 18 from a two-point loss the Cats will look to correct their mistakes and take the battle head on. As Lonergan concedes, any team has the ability to challenge and outrun their opponent, despite their position on the ladder.

“As I mentioned before it doesn’t really matter who you’re playing in this day and age I think all teams are good attacking wise.”

Lonergan acknowledges that St Kilda are rebuilding, however he knows anything can happen and the Cats will have to be ready to attack at a higher level when the pressure hits.

“St Kilda are obviously in a transition phase and they’re blooding a lot of young players so we’ve got to be on our game, because they can certainly score very quickly and we don’t want to lose down here,” Lonergan said.

St Kilda still holds a tough crew of experienced players that Gullan believe have the capacity to step up against the Cats. Although he feels Geelong will have the upper hand of being at home under the lights in front of their home crowd.

“There’s still an elite core, yes they’ve struggled a bit but you’ve still got to be careful.”

“There’s no doubt Chris Scott will rev this team up at home under lights and it’s still got that feel of a new occasion, so you’d expect Geelong to come home.
