Andrew Mackie believes the strong recent performances against Greater Western Sydney and the Brisbane Lions have set the Cats up for a powerful finish to the home and away season.
"[It's been] a really good couple of weeks for the footy club," Mackie said after the win over the Lions on Saturday night.
"Disappointing not to win last week, but good tonight to come [out in front]."
The Cats notched the highest score of the season to date in the win over the Lions, and Mackie put that down to hard work on the training track.
"We'd been working our our attack a bit, so it's good to actually put some score on the board," he said.
Mackie enjoyed the week on the Gold Coast leading up to the clash in Brisbane.
"It's always good to get some sun," he said.
"Living in Geelong for most of the winter, it's always good to get some vitamin D.
"Come to the latter part of the season, it is important to actually give the mind a bit of a freshen up as much as anything."
The Cats' next game is against a resurgent Hawthorn side at the MCG on Saturday afternoon.
