Geelong's Cory Gregson and Josh Cowan are unlikely to play again this season after undergoing surgery.
Gregson underwent further surgery on the navicular stress fracture in his foot which was failing to heal.
He will be in a walking boot for around six weeks and is expected to start running again in around 12 weeks.
Cowan underwent surgery on his achilles tendon. His rehabilitation is expected to take between 10-12 weeks.
"Obviously this is disappointing for the players and our team," Geelong's general manager of football, Steve Hocking, said.
"Both procedures will allow the players to move forward with the club’s medical team on a rehabilitation plan.”
