Geelong has selected Sam Simpson as a father-son selection in the rookie draft.
The Cats used their fourth and last pick in the draft (No. 53) to add Simpson to their list.
The young midfielder is the son of former Cats onballer Sean Simpson, who played 114 games in the hoops between 1991-98 after crossing from St Kilda, where he played seven matches.
Simpson, who stands 180cm tall, played nine games and kicked five goals for the Geelong Falcons in the TAC Cup during the 2016 season.
