Lincoln McCarthy is "absolutely pumped" to have signed a new contract with the Cats, which will keep him at the club until at least the end of the 2017 season.
"This is my fifth year at the club now and I haven't played many games, so I'm just stoked the club have held onto me over this time," McCarthy told Cats Media.
"It's a great club and I just want to repay the faith they've had in me over the past four or five years."
McCarthy has earned his new deal by resurrecting his career following a series of injury problems.
After playing just five AFL games in his first four seasons with Geelong, he has played 14 AFL games this year and has added plenty of pace and aggression to the Cats' forward line.
"I was really enjoying playing footy again and hoping a contract would come off the back of playing footy again," McCarthy said.
"So I guess it is a little bit of a weight off the shoulders, but we've all got to keep working and striving towards a premiership this year."
