Patrick Dangerfield says there's a steely resolve among Geelong's players and coaches to lift their performances to another level during the finals.
"It just feels for us as a club at the moment like the season is just starting now," Dangerfield said on Fox Footy's AFL360 program on Monday night.
"It isn't the end. It's just starting.
"I can't talk about it without smiling, because it generates so much excitement for me personally.
"I haven't experienced [a lot of] finals like a lot of my teammates have ... but it's infectious."
Dangerfield won the AFL Coaches' Association Champion Player of the Year award on Monday.
But the star midfielder is craving team success over the coming month.
"Individual awards are terrific, but every player understands that to taste that premiership success and to win games of footy [are what it's all about]," Dangerfield said.
"I've spent a fair bit of time with Luke Hodge at various sportsmen's nights over the last 12 months.
"Every time I hear what he's achieved in his career, the individual stuff is sensational, but what always comes to mind for me is the premiership success.
"I think he's won four of them. It's embarrassing when you're sitting next to him."
