This year Jordan Murdoch has shown he deserves a place in the senior's forward line and down the track he could be firing through the middle if he continues to impress.

The nimble youngster, who will only play his 29th AFL game on Thursday night, has been called up for every battle this season.

“We’re happy with Jordan’s progression, we think he’s an important part of our forward line but I think we can see him pushing up into the midfield a little bit more - he has all the attributes," Scott told Cats TV.

Like last year, Murdoch has been able to take the next step when the Cats have needed him most, including two vital goals against the Hawks in Round 5 and the Kangaroos last Friday night.

“He can be a marking player and there’s no doubt that he could play as a deep forward and be very successful – he’s a hard runner and he’s exceptionally quick as well, good in the contest and he kicks goals.
